Passenger boarding bridges
The use of energy chains and highly flexible chainflex cables in the telescopic movement serves to bring the passenger boarding bridge to the aircraft. During the lifting movement, the e-chains are used to bring the passenger boarding bridge up to the height of the doors. The mechanical movement must run smoothly. Without passenger boarding bridges, entry into modern aircraft becomes difficult. With a boarding height of up to four metres above the ground, very high stairs would be necessary, making it complicated for older passengers to board, for example.
