iglidur® i4000, 3D printing resin

iglidur i4000 is a ductile resin that was developed specifically for gear applications. Thanks to its high elongation at break, tooth root fracture occurs 3.5 times later than with other engineering resins, making the material ideal for a wide range of gear applications at room temperature. The mechanical properties are largely isotropic due to the photopolymerization process.

Since skin contact with the liquid resin must be avoided, personal protective equipment is absolutely necessary during application. For best results, be sure to shake the bottle of resin well before use.

Tip: In its in-house 3D printing service, igus processes iglidur i4000 Resin using the classic DLP process at a high resolution, which enables highly detailed shapes and recesses. Printing Guidelines and Material Profiles

If you use 3D printers from Asiga or Genera, the material profile for processing iglidur i4000 is stored in the respective material databases. When is another material more suitable?

• For the lowest coefficients of friction → iglidur i3000
• For food contact → iglidur i6000
• For operating temperatures > 80 °C → iglidur i2000
